Is a med spa safe?
It can be, when the right safeguards are in place. The American Med Spa Association has a useful list of what to look for in a safe med spa visit. A reputable med spa should be able to answer each of these:
1. Who is the medical director? At Dixi’s MediSpa, treatments are overseen by Dr. Randall Brewer, MD, who trained in anesthesiology and pain medicine (Duke University, Mayo Clinic Florida) and has practiced in Shreveport since 2004.
2. Who performs your treatment, and what is their license?
3. Is there a consultation and medical history review first?
