PRE-CARE AND POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Fibroblast Plasma Lift

Proper preparation and aftercare are the essential steps to ensuring a safe recovery and maximizing the skin-tightening effects of your treatment. At Dixi’s MediSpa, we follow strict professional protocols to ensure your Fibroblast Plasma Lift in Shreveport, LA, delivers a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Two Weeks Prior to Treatment

  • Sun Protection: Avoid prolonged UV exposure and tanning beds. We cannot treat skin that is sunburned, tanned, or inflamed, as this significantly increases the risk of hyperpigmentation.

  • No Self-Tanners: Discontinue all self-tanning lotions, sprays, or professional tans on the treatment area.

  • Aesthetic Procedures: Refrain from chemical peels, laser resurfacing, or Botox/fillers in the target area for at least 14–21 days prior to your appointment.

  • Skin Health: If you are prone to cold sores and are treating the area around the mouth, consult your doctor for an antiviral prescription to start prior to treatment.

Three Days Prior to Treatment

  • Pause Irritants: Stop using any topical products that may sensitize the skin or thin the dermal barrier.

  • Active Ingredients: Discontinue use of Retinoids (Retinol, Tretinoin), Alpha/Beta Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Salicylic), and Vitamin C serums.

  • Supplement Check: Avoid blood-thinning supplements like Vitamin E or Fish Oil (unless prescribed by a doctor) to minimize potential swelling.

Day of Treatment

  • Skin Preparation: Arrive with the treatment area thoroughly cleansed. Do not apply lotions, oils, powders, or perfumes.

  • Face & Neck: Arrive with a completely clean face, free of makeup or mascara (if treating eyelids). Please bring a hair tie to keep hair away from the treatment zone.

  • Comfort: We will apply a high-strength topical numbing cream upon your arrival to ensure a comfortable experience with the Plamere Plasma Pen.

What Can Be Expected?

  • Carbon Crusts: You will have tiny, symmetrical brown dots (carbon crusts) in the treated area. These are a normal part of the process and will naturally fall off within 5–10 days.

  • Swelling & Heat: It is normal to experience a sensation similar to a moderate sunburn. Swelling is common, especially around the eyes, and usually peaks 24–48 hours post-treatment.

  • Tightening: You may feel an immediate "shrinkage" or tightening of the skin, which will continue to improve over the next 8–12 weeks.

Post-Treatment Care

  • CLEAN: Do not wash the treated area for the first 24 hours. After that, use only lukewarm water and a very gentle, fragrance-free cleanser. Do not rub or scrub the carbon crusts; pat the skin dry gently.

  • DRY HEALING: We generally recommend "dry healing" for the first 48 hours. If the skin feels excessively tight, apply only the specific recovery balm provided or recommended by your technician.

  • PROTECT: Once the carbon crusts have fallen off, you must apply a broad-spectrum Physical Sunscreen (Zinc Oxide/Titanium Dioxide) with SPF 50 daily for at least 3 months to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

  • PATIENCE: Allow the carbon crusts to fall off naturally. Picking them prematurely can lead to scarring or permanent pigment changes.

What to Avoid

  • NO Picking: Never peel or pick at the crusts. Let them flake off on their own.

  • No Makeup: Do not apply any makeup, concealers, or powders to the treated area until the carbon crusts have completely fallen off.

  • Active Skincare: Do NOT use Retinols, Vitamin C, or Acid-based exfoliants for at least 4 weeks post-treatment.

  • Heat & Sweat: Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and strenuous exercise for 5–7 days to prevent aggravating the inflammation.

  • UV Exposure: Strictly avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks. Tanning beds are prohibited for at least 3 months following a plasma lift.
