Lip Flip

A Lip Flip uses a wrinkle relaxer to gently relax the muscles around your upper lip, letting it subtly roll outward for the appearance of a fuller, more defined smile — all without adding any filler. It's a great option if you want a soft enhancement rather than added volume.

A Lip Flip relaxes the muscle above your upper lip so it rolls outward, creating the appearance of fullness — no volume is actually added. Lip filler, on the other hand, physically adds volume with a hyaluronic acid product. Filler gives you an immediate, more dramatic change, while a Lip Flip gives you a softer, more natural-looking result. I can also combine the two treatments for an even more beautiful, natural look if that's what you're after.

Not much at all. I use a very fine needle, and most of my clients describe it as just a quick pinch. The whole injection process takes less than a minute.

The actual injection is very quick — just a few minutes — plus a short consultation beforehand to go over your goals and make sure it's the right fit for you.

You won't see a change immediately — it takes time for the product to relax the muscle. Most of my clients start noticing a difference within 3 to 5 days, with the full result settling in over 1 to 2 weeks.

Very little to none. I recommend avoiding heavy puckering, strenuous exercise, and sleeping face-down for about a day afterward, and skipping alcohol for 24 hours to minimize any bruising. Beyond that, you can go right back to your normal routine.

You may notice some mild, temporary changes — particularly with certain sounds like "P" and "B," or a little extra care needed with straws and utensils — while your muscles adjust over the first week or two. This is normal and resolves as your body adjusts.

Not immediately — since it's a wrinkle relaxer rather than a filler, there's nothing to dissolve. The good news is the effects are temporary, so if you're not happy with the result, it will fully fade within a few months and your lip will return to normal.

It's considered a very safe, low-risk treatment. The most common effects are mild bruising or swelling at the injection site. Rarely, too much product can over-relax the lip, making it briefly harder to fully close — which is exactly why experience and precise placement matter so much, and why I always start conservatively.

Absolutely. I often pair a Lip Flip with lip filler for clients who want both the natural roll of the flip and a bit of added volume, or with Botox® elsewhere on the face for a more complete, refreshed look.
